Disconnect old Router from modem Hook up new Router to modem Unplug power from modem, wait 30 seconds... power back on. (Your modem is MAC Locked to the first device connected to it upon power up, must reboot it to replace device) Plug laptop into ethernet port 1-4 and you should get an IP... Open a CMD prompt and type: ipconfig /all Find the line that says Default Gateway(For the WIRED connection), it should have a value of something 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or something like that Go to that IP in your browser and login with the default credentials provided with the new router. Setup your wifi signal name and password. It should be fairly straight forward in the web GUI. (We did this) Hook up the rest of the network cables as they were before (but to the new router) Reboot any additional routers using this one as it's uplink.
